Finally got home from DIV  Didn't tear it up but I had more than a few laughs with some good friends

Got up to Culpepper for some digging and seeing some old friends  Folks, if you've ever dug hot ground, you haven't dug any like we were going to dig :surrender: It will turn your thinking about using a metal detector upside down. I always seem to have some type of problem detecting in Virginia for some reason but I think we had some of the worst luck with equipment this trip. :sadwalk: First thing that happens is my Head phones went out but of course I have several spares  Unfortunately, when Elson's 5900 coil went out and my backup Blue and Gray developed a sound issue it knocked out increasing the odds for him finding a genuine CW relic. Next time Elson, we'll be ready  All during the hunt my TDI would go crazy and I was never really able to get it to work as I think it is capable. Anyway, I had a great time and wished we could have all spent more time together. Here's a few pictures I snapped. I always say to take pictures early in the trip because after the first day, you'll be to tired to pull out the camera :goodnight:

Here's the man that turned me on to the DIV experience several year ago. Thanks Ed, I love getting to hang with ya every year

Of course this was the first DIV for Cooter and I hate that it wasn't more productive. Seems like the #13 was a omen. But its alway good to see ya

I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the rest of our digging crew :D Doc and Keith  These are some serious hunters folks, and I've learned a lot from these guys. Doc made a great find but I'll let him post that  ..and Keith had a very interesting couple of finds that hopefully he'll post up for us
Thanks fellers for a great week of diggin' :D

I did manage to dig a few goodies, and I must admit that I concentrated on finding buttons this trip instead of bullets. I did get a few nice bullets and buttons to add to my collection. When I get around to cleaning them I'll post some of the finds but I did get a Confederate flower button and a Eagle A and 3 Eagle I's plus a couple of nice staff buttons. All in all it was all good ;)
