FINALLY - Got me another GTP 1350!! :clapping:

I found one on ebay for $380 + $5 UPS ground shipping = $385 total.

It was a Buy It Now and still has over a year on the factory warranty. It appears to have been used little, and comes with the rain cover.
Whew... at last!

Now, anybody interested in my ACE 250? I'll make you a good deal....

Good for you bud. Now you're back in business. Looking frward to some finds posted here.

I reckon I could have held out for $350, but I think the price was fair. I paid $375 for one a few years ago and it had NO warranty left.
I will look forward to getting the Green Terror back out there. Now to sell a few more - ACE 250, Fisher 1236x2, Tesoro Golden, etc.

Well, it at least feels like it. These Garretts hold a nice value in the after market, which I always find interesting. Its not just something that can be explained away with, "Yeah, Garrett's is good..." There is something else.

I got a CXIII off ebay for $81 last spring - it was broke at purchase. I sent it to the factory and they rebuilt it, literally. It had everything from the face plate to the battery box replaced. Repair total was only $91, which was a great deal in itself. So I was all in for $172. When I sold it 2 weeks later, I'll just say I doubled my money and let it go at that.....

I was pleased, as you can guess. So, I've been watching the 1350's that come and go in the last few months and I've noted a couple of things:

1. There aren't many of them.
You don't see them for sale much. There are a gazillion of them available new, and I assume more than a few are being sold. But in the after market, they are something of a rarity.

2. They turn good money.
The lowest I've seen in recent months is $331 and the highest, $475 w/ an extra coil. This is consistent with what I see - most any decent GTP 1350 is gonna go for somewhere between $350-400, give or take.

Mine is right in line with that, still has some warranty and is in excellent shape. No matter how you shake it, I'm ahead of the game.
All I need now is a small coil and some covers.

You know its funny - I've had about a gazillion detectors and some of the best finds I've made have been with Garretts.

The 1350 is possibly the best all purpose detector around, in my opinion. Its easy to use and its built tough. It gets deep enough for hunting relics or old coins, or you can take it to the beach or tot lot where it is equally at home. It is adjustable without being fussy and makes a great companion. It uses the plentiful and inexpensive Crossfire coils - I'm hoping to find one of the older ellipticals for it. It has sizing information available, too. If I could have only one detector, there are only a few that I would consider - and the GTP 1350 is one of them.

I have a special affinity for it, though, as I had to master it. I come from the old "analog school" and the Garrett GT line was my first high end detector experience. I started with a GTAx 1000, then a 1250 and eventually a 1350. During all of this, I was not into the boinging and cursor stuff; in fact, I sold each Garrett I got because I thought they acted "crazy."

Eventually I gave it one last try, determined to work it. Finally, I was patient enough to let the detector do the work and show me what to do. When I did, I really started to like it. Then I made some finds under difficult circumstances that would make most other detectors falter. And the best thing was, I didn't have to try - the Garrett was doing all the work.

So I've some full circle. I'm going to be selling some of my detectors and keeping only a small cadre of higher-end machines. Fisher f70's, Tesoro Goldens, a White's XLT - they'll all be there. And they'll share space with a GTP 1350.

Keep your ace250 as a spare or for tot lots. Have fun!
Thanks, I had considered that.
I already have spares, though, and the 1350 is the King of Tot Lots! The ACE 250 doesn't hold a candle to it, IMHO.

Plus, the ACE 250 was never a favorite of mine, anyway. I don't mind letting it go.

thanks for that dahut  I'm always on the lookout for a better detector, I've always liked the sizing idea it would cut the junk targets down a bit which is a good thing I'll have to keep an eye out for a used one over here.

And again it is worth noting that the 1350 does not require a special coil to do its sizing job.

The 1500 and 2500 with their imaging have a third winding in the coil to perform the function. This offers a greater resolution to the sizing, but at the cost of a proprietary coil.

The 1350 can use any Crossfire coil, and there have been many. Im hoping to land one of the ellipticals that were part of the GTA line-up. If you get an older Garrett that uses the same coils, they will be interchangeable as well.

The GTP uses a time based function, based on target strength. SO it is not infallible. But I have found it reliable enough inside of 6," to call it good.

Congrats Dahut! I know you'll be mopping up with that thing in no time. I'll be checkin back for pointers and to see the finds!

I'm glad to to see you've got a 1350. I've had an ongoing interest in them for some time. I think that the profiling feature would be far more efficient than the imaging feature on the GTI's. I find that the imaging comes with too many flaws to be worth their use. That Said, I still consider my 1500 to be my favourite machine with the Scorcher coil on. The target info is far superior! I imagine that the 1350 would have a significantly faster recovery speed too, due to the coil type.
The Ace is an effective little unit. Put the GTI/GTP audio on it and it'd be about perfect. I've found myself contemplating getting one again before Xmas. They are nice, light effective and easy on the eye.:clapping::garrett:
Mick Evans.
P.S. Man, I wish they were as cheap here as in the States, but with our dollar due to hit parity by Xmas and possibly exceed it next year by 10% (according to the head of our reserve bank) then we might be able to experience, prices very close to you guys. There are a couple of brands over here that are actually slightly cheaper already.

Actually, if Garrett's could just soften the Audio on the Ace, it would be the best outcome, as it's belltone is better than the GTI's eta.
It can't hurt to drop hints.
Mick Evans.

Remember the 1250/1350/1500 are all the same detector except for the imaging on the 1500 and the profiling on the 1350.
