Finally!! Got my new F5

Got my new f5 sat. but didn't get to use til yesterday. It was about to kill me
I did have a pretty good outing, 10 dimes, about 20 memorials and lots of junk.,
I noticed it was real chattery if that's a word , I think i had my settings to
hot i was running thresh @ +5 and gain @ 90 fe bar with 1 or 2 bars. I was
getting a high tone at the end of my swing and would not repeat in same
place is this due to settings?
Also i noticed that the d symbol would stay on the screen until i hit
another target is it supposed to do that or is something wrong? Thx everybody for all the help. Yankee

Great machine, Fisher may not be able to come out with a better machine in that price range.

you did good for your first time try running the threshold around 0 then back the sense down until it runs quiet and it is normal for the screen to display the last target HH

+5 and 90 on the gain? thats alot mine would chatter all over the place. Today I was using -2 and 60 on the gain pulling coins up at 3-4 inches. (new park) my ground is kind of hot abour 3 on the fe.

Thanks guys for the input, I did back it down some running Thresh @ 0 Gain about 75 better but stll a little noisy might have to go some more
but have noticed this park is real trashy. Was real excited yesterday found 4 state quaters in the same hole. Also picked up my first nickels, a 64' and 70. The pinpointing on this thing is awesome and target separation, my wedding band is gold and silver and this machine nails em both.
On the downside to this I noticed that my external speaker wasnt working so have to return to dealership for replacement, bummer Oh well I have found out quickly that this machine is going to be with me for a long time.

Sorry to hear that Yankee! I just got mine about 2 weeks ago, and have to send it back in for a ground balancing knob that doesn't work. Better to find that stuff now though, rather than after the warranty is done! It works with the phase button, just not manual ground balance, so I'm going to take it out one last time this weekend before I send it off

Yep hope we get good machines back so we dont have to do this again. Spring fever is here, needibg to get out a dig.

I haven't even got mine in the ox to go back yet, and my new one left El Paso today, and is due in on the 13th!! I called in mine for a bad balance knob (had it less than two weeks) and they walked me through to make sure that's what it was. The next day, Felix called me while I was at work, asked me a couple of questions, and sent an email the next day with a shipping label and instructions on how to ship it back. Then he told me they had none in stock. so I'm thinking, dang, now I'm gonna be jonesin' to due some detecting with no detector. Then I get an email from Felix today, they got some, he sent one already, and a tracking number! It will be here Wednesday..... Now that's what I call first rate customer service! I'm afraid I'm now a Fisher fan for life! You go Felix!
