Finally got out for a dig!.............

After 6 weeks of no digging, I finally got out. Saturday a bunch of us from the club hit an older soccer field. Not my first choice, as i like the old stuff. Not long into the hunt my daughter and I went across the road to an older football field. here are my digs. Some clad, a Chucky Cheese token, an old enamal script button, a fishing sinker, some kind of gas tip, a 40 cal rifle casing, and the best find is a neat sterling and terquoise pendant. A gal in the club thought it was a payote bird? It has an interesting back mark too.

nice finds!!

I think it is called the Phoenix but not sure! They have a large one carved into the Bluffs along the Mississippi River in IL, but there might be another name to it, as Ma's memory just cannot remember many things any more. Congrats on all the nice finds! :) May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty

Its indian jewlery, I think. Some pieces of the Silver and Terquoise jewlery can be very valueable if it is traced back to certain artists or very early artists.

Neat piece regardless of value

Good going - glad you finally got out. I dug a ring exactly like yours - believe it's a thunderbird . The Indians in the swest use it in most settings. Steve in so az

Ma Betty,

You're referring to the Piasa Bird near Alton. Here's a picture....
