Finally got out for a while today. First time since my Dad Past.

I bought a new toy to make things interesting.
An ID Excel. I know its only a mid range detector but it showed me its up to the task.
I got the lettered button and the 1795 Large cent with it today along with a few good metal trash items and a 1956 Wheat cent. (I guess I'll never be a Don). Simple little machine and fun to run. The only thing I don't like about it so far is its lacking volume without head phones and you are limited to the stock 8" coil.

The rest of the items in the pic were found with the SE at a different location.
I experienced a complete shutdown with the SE today. When I turned it back on you could hardly see the screen. I rebooted it by holding the power button and resetting it to factory. I also pulled the Battery pack while it was on. I still can't raise the contrast without the screen getting real dark and the threshold and volume lowering. I can set all the other settings with no trouble.

Too bad its in such bad shape. They got their use out of it.

I like that 1795, it has character and besides, seems to be in good shape, if reverse side is visible email me photo of both and I will tell you the variety if you so desire.

I have an Excel ID. Agree with you 100%. However, compare the depth of it with your SE, expect a BIG difference.....

Glad you are back hunting. As long as you are swinging your coil good things can happen and it looks like it did!

The reverse is completely smooth.
As for the toy, I didn't expect too much when I bought it. The dealer is trying to clear them out. They don't sell here for some reason. Fishers that is.
What kind of depth have you gotten with yours?
After this I'll drop the subject of the off brand on the Minelab forum.

These two small cellar holes have been giving up stuff for a few years,it's pretty slow there now but it still gives up stuff. Enjoy.

Sorry to hear you lost your dad Bob. It's good to get back on the horse again. That's something very therapeutic about this hobby; it's a great stress breaker. Looks like you've used the ladies approach here too a bit, shopping therapy.
Good luck and happy hunting.
Mick Evans.

the high silver hits as I want to get that sound pounded into my brain. I'm getting better each time out and now I think I'll work on the nickel sound and cursor hit next. I figure that alone will incerease my ring finds. Glad you were able to do some hunting and hope you're doing well.

Just between us Mick, I swapped it back for a CZ3D last night. More guts.
Of course everyone will know eventually.
