Finally had a full afternoon to hunt and nabbed SIX SILVER and 2 more Injuns:super:

I can't remember how many years it's been since I plucked 6 silver in one afternoon because those days ended a long time ago. Well I figured this would be my last opportunity for a while to get a full hunt in. 9 out of 10 times my hunts are rushed and usually last 2 hours or so. This time I was able to get a nice 5 hours in before the drizzle started. From here on out the weather will be colder and nastier and my work hours increase through the winter months anyway...so this was probably my last long hunt until after winter. I may squeeze an hour or 2 in a few more times...but not much more.
Well guess where I hunted again.....that's right the same "hunted out" park I've been REworking with the 6" excelerator and the 1050 coil the last couple of months.
As usual I wasn't disappointed because my very first target was a merc at 8"...and that was within the first 10 minutes. Then the wheaties started coming. I hit a section of the park that I haven't spent a whole lot of time at this year because of time constraints. Yes I've hit it 100's of times in the last 30 years but not with the machine and combo of coils I have now. It was just a great afternoon because I never get a 5 hour hunt in and I made the most of it before it got dark. In between the wheaties I plucked out 2 more 1800's injuns which makes 12 out of there the last 4 hunts. Then some more silver and some more wheaties...then it started to drizzle and started getting dark.
The take for the day was four mercs...1927...1929...1940s and 1943d...two rooseys...1953 and 1961...two 1800's injuns...1890 and 1893... 24 wheaties...and two pocketfulls of deep broken screw top bottles! I emptied my pocket once then refilled it again so you are only seeing 1/2 of the crap that came with the goodies. That's going to happen if you want those deep injuns. I'm already looking forward to next year just because I know my machine so much better than I did a year ago. You never stop learning any machine but I now feeI am making some progress.
Thanks for viewing and good luck hunting.

...that you also posted the junk so that curious visitors can know that there's also work involved. The mellow edges of the busted bottle etc. almost make the photo look like artwork....

Happy Thanksgiving. Mike

We ought to re-name that coil Hoover

I see that Shirts still working ..LOL Great finds and thanks for your PM..appreciated it very much.

That sure is a excellent pile of Coins you got this time around. The more time you get on your Explorer, the more successful of a hunter you will become and the finds you are making now are only the tip of the iceburg. I hope to try and get out this weekend sometime if the ground isn't frozen yet and see if I can't get some last minute Silver before the ground is Rock Solid. Wish I could have gotten out last weekend but had some Engine Mount problems on my Van and just got them fixed tonight. So the Detecting Mobile is a Go now. Continued Success, Good Luck and HH to you on your next hunt. Hope you land a Nice Barber or Seated Coin.

Those are some great finds and I'm glad you got out when you did.Looking out side now It might be a while for the weather to change.I took my book out and I'm about 99% sure its a 2 cent piece that I found.I wish it was in better shape but at least i know what it is.Good luck when you make it out again.and happy turkey day.

got her up and going. We are supposed to get 3" of snow tommorrow and it's supposed to be nasty all weekend so it looks like my best silver day of the year might also be my LAST silver day of the year.

Tough to see the year end but at least a person has some extra time to do research for the next season. Good Luck and HH.:detecting:

we need to get you up here to try our worked out parks. I can't find anything anymore the last time out here in our parks I got shut out. Drop me an email if you ever get to central IL and I'll show you around. GL & HH Ken

I head to my parents for some turkey...BUT it's 29 degrees this morning here..so I don't think I'll be doing any hunting.
