Finally rings with stones!! Gold!!

Was out for 4 hours today, was going to check a new water dam above the old swimming hole that is drained. I have been to this place at least 50 times to make sure I got it all, well thanks to the power of the explorer 2 I have found a new hunting place. I started on one end thinking I wasnt going to find anything and all I got was junk, some bullet shells, etc. In making a straight line back and forth through the hole I get to the spot where everyone went in and thats when the fun started. I only had the 8" DD coil on and started getting the high pitch sounds but reading in the very lower right corner. It was a faint signal so I decided what the hell, I dug it and out pops a green quarter. As the day went on and then ended, I realized I had only covered a 10'by10' area and filled my pockets with over $4 in clad. I also recovered 3 rings, one copper with a G, one 14k with a small diamond, and one 10k with some kind of red stone. I have to tell you, this explorer is unbelievable!!! The sounds came in very faint but there and repeatable. All of these targets were at least 12" deep with the deepest at 16 1/2", I measured. That is just with the 8" coil, I cant wait to get back there with the 10.5", there is lots more there. By the end of the day, my gloves had no fingers in them and my fingers dont have much skin left. I was just that excited and I only had by little digger with me. Next time the big spade is going with me!! Happy Hunting!!

Way to go Rich, you need to go the way Mrchile is. Using the largest coil and dig every signal with a spade. Nice finds and you may be into another jewelery store like he is.

I dont know if I am that lucky, hopefully one or two more will come out of there though. It should be fun!! Good Luck!!

Nice bunch of finds you got today. What did you find that was 16 1/2" in the ground? I think that the target must of fell back into the hole and you didn't realize it and you think it was that deep. 12" is about max for a coin. I'm not trying to say that you didn't find it that deep, but it is highly unlikely that the 8" would even go that deep, unless it was a big object of course. Let me know and Congrat's on your finds.

One of the quarters was that deep, It may have fell back into the hole I dont that. The bottom was pretty much coarse sand and after a about 14" it turned to mud. That may very well be the case about it falling back in the hole, I dont have an X-1 probe yet, I just got the explorer. One other thing I want to mention is that some of the pennies and nickels were right in the 10-12 inch range as noted by the depth indicator, but there were several that had no depth indication. I am new with this machine so I cant give positive answers to anything except that I thought there was nothing left to be found. Good Luck Hunting!!

Make sure the next time you buy any upgrades for your detector, go and buy a Sunray X-1 Probe. The sooner the better. After you get one, you will think to yourself, "why didn't I get this sooner". Target recovery time is more than doubled, and you won't hit the target by accident when trying to find it. Best of luck to you and HH.

No place is ever cleared out hehe!!!!!!!!!! Different day different conditions different angle ect ect ect can produce finds : ) Not to mention the will to dig : )

Nice Finds Once Again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
