Finally...some more gold!

Goldstrike

Well-known member
After a long dry season of not getting any gold, I finally managed to get some more 14K which made my day. Now to go looking for more!!

Very nice! Good luck on finding more!

The weather here in SoCal is still pretty warm to hot....mid to high 70's inland and actually sometime's low 80's but it's chilly on the beaches. Even though there are only a few people sunning themselves, there are still pieces of jewellery and rings buried in the sand which were lost during the summer season when thousands were out there having fun. You just have to stick with it and keep swinging. I find after I find something decent, my energy level ramps up and I swing a little more energetically!! H.H. and G.L. everyone!

Thanks Bunker!...good luck to you to!!

GS, excellent find there! In the aftermath of Superstorm Sandy, going to hit the beach today. You seem to have recovered or posted more gold than many here.
Going forward can you please post your stats (settings, tid ) for the gold you've found ? It'll sure help me (and maybe others) for finding the elusive Color.

Thanks kschae4......I'm spoiled because I live only about 45 minutes from the beaches so 75% of the time I'm detecting there, but I also detect the parks and other places. When I'm on the beach, I alternate between my Safari for the dry and wet sand and my ATPro for in and around the surf. I have other detectors but these are the 2 I use the most. Basically C&J blocking out +4 and everything below thru the minus #'s. I have the sensitivity up as much as possible but not up to where your getting a lot of falsing (around 16-17) People say that they hunt in AM to get the depth but 99% of the time, all the good stuff is only 2-4 inches deep so your not looking at deep targets in the dry sand...but the wet sand and in the surf is another situation where you need different settings for the deeper targets where I use my ATPro. No one should be using a Safari around the saltwater anyway!
I dig most everything not looking for coins but looking for gold and silver signals and tones and targets. Oh, by the way, I always keep my fingers crossed!:clapping:

I should add that here on the West coast, (Southern California) we just don't get the storms that you have around the Gulf and East Coast beaches. With few exceptions, the sand remains static and beach geography remains much the same. I would be very interested in what settings you would use on the East Coast beaches? Do you generally find the best targets deeper or shallow?

GS, thanks for the info, would also like to know what the tid numbers are for recovered gold rings and jewelry. I hunted yesterday afternoon in c/j mode ,auto sensitivity.
on the high sand-boardwalk area at a nearby beach. Had 1 '56 rosey, half a dozen wheaties from '20-'44, a fleur de lys military medal, sterling spoon...all are bathing now and may post pics in a couple of days.
