FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, it finally happened! I got some snow! Yeah, I know, you guys who are up to your eyeballs in snow are thinking, so what! Well, it's a big deal down here! We've had much more at times in the past, and have certainly had much less, but we got 4 1/2 inches at my house. South of us got up to 6 inches - go figure. Maybe we will get more next time (that might be years down the road), but I'm happy with what we have at the present. Wish we could post more than 6 pics at a time!!!!!

Oh, and here's some info sure to tickle you regular snow people; all roads are closed throughout the county and throughout most of Alabama.

Here's my snowman. He is about 4 1/2 feet tall:

My four wheeler about half way through the snow event. Got more after this was taken:

The windmill out at the edge of my yard:

We have about 3 miles of trails at my house (on my land). Here's a pic while out riding:

The front of my Jeep had been in the garage, with the back hanging out. Don't know why I hadn't pulled it all the way in and shut the door. Backed it out to do some stuff out in the garage about 1/2 way through the snow event. That's Tim's black Jeep Liberty behind my Wrangler (his truck was pretty well covered). We have several vehicles at my house; 7 to be exact. This is my 4th Wrangler. I love'em!!! When I'm 80, I'll probably still be driving a Jeep Wrangler!

Glad you are enjoying it. 49 states have it on the ground right now. God sure can paint a canvas.

You got more snow in Alabama than we have here in Massachusetts. My sister has 51+" in Lincoln University, Penna. Thanks for the post looks you you and your family have a really nice property layout. I have an aunt, uncle, and cousins who live in Dothan, Ala. Enjoy the snow while you have it. God Bless You !!! Ron P.S. Nice snowman !!

Dan,

Where in South Georgia are you? My sister used to live in Statesboro, Ga., just outside of Savannah, and taught at Georgia Southern University. She is in South Carlina now, but I still go down to Savannah, at least every other year. Sorry your snow didn't stick - I feel your pain. Ours usually doesn't either. It's a rare thing, for sure.

YES! I love my Wranglers!!!! I've driven Wrangles since about 1989. Like I said, this is my 4th one. I've had a red one, burgundy one, black one, and now, this blue one. I'd really like to trade for a new one right now but hesitate because I just don't want the hassle of being in debt. I was looking at new ones online a couple of days ago, and would like to have the charcoal gray one. Always have to have the soft/rag top. I've never had a hard top but feel certain I wouldn't like it for myself. Tim has way over a hundred thousand on the black liberty. Sometimes he drives his truck instead (Chevy 4x4) but usually uses it for hauling and working.

When a rare snow comes through Alabama, that's usually the way it does us too, Doug. :-(

Lisa

Yeah, we loved it yesterday! I reckon it'll melt today, or at least most of it anyway.

Lisa

Hahaha! Thanks! My daughter took its picture before I put its arms on. Dothan, huh? Been through there several times. A different world down that way from what it is in North Alabama. As for the land, we have a good bit, with 4 wheeler trails all over the place. We live about 1/2 mile off the main road and we're the only house back here.

Lisa

I am so gald you got the snow now get a rope and sled and pull everyone around on the 4 wheeler. You had to have bama on that jeep . I work with a man from your home state and he always has something with a big A on it . I do not mind I do not like auburn the most and two others but I do like BAMA.

Lisa I live in a small town near Waycross.....15 miles from the Okefenokee swamp as the crow flies......Dan

Hey...Neat Snowman! You Really Know How To Make 'Um... Wish all we got was 4" and melted in a day or two...oh well...spring will come to Michigan eventually.

Glad you like it because I'm sick of it!! we had our 1st snow fall this winter on Oct. 15th and we have had snow in past winters in april, yep 7 month where we can have snow.... yuck.
But heres the deal. We were nice enough to send you our snow so you be nice enough to send us some warm weather this summer.
Greg

Nice pics, Lisa! I love the snow scenery and the snowman....he's a cute one with the hat and scarf! So glad you did get the snow you wanted and it has melted a lot here where I live....more snow down towards Rolla and Newburg! They got it twice and didn't melt from the first one, just fell on top of what they had on the ground already! Enjoy your whiteness while you can and Praise God for sending it to you! P.S. Don't send me any warm weather from down your way to St. Louis, as it gets hot and humid enough....if fact too hot and humid! :) May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty

It's already melted here, Ma. Well, there's a few small patches like under trees or on a grassy slope; otherwise, it's gone. They are saying we might, possibly, get an inch or so late tomorrow night into the wee hours of Monday morning. Supposed to start out as a cold rain tomorrow (Sunday) afternoon, and then change over to snow around midnight. I don't look forward to that summer heat you spoke of. It's down right depressing to even think about it.

Lisa

You remember that, Greg, when you gripe about the 98-104 degree temps and 90%-100% humidity that I send with it!

Lisa

Maybe spring will come early for you, Marty! I hope so! I really don't know how you folks who live with all the snow cope with it. I like to get a little to play in, but I sure would NOT want it to stick around for long, and I sure wouldn't want the depths y'all get either.

Lisa

His metal detector was in the house! He couldn't swing it anyway... he didn't have any arms!!! Julie took his picture before I added them.
