Finding fish with my 1500

Dancer

Well-known member
With all the talk of our fish having high amounts of lead, I tried out an idea. After chipping a few holes in the ice of a pond, seeding it with canned corn, a road kill, and stale bread, I waited and returned 2 days later. In the relic mode I detected large targets moving around under the ice! Now what do some of you that have iced fished deduce from this experiment?

Gov't early secret weapon, armour scaled fish experiment, some escaped the lab and are now an invasive species.

I think that you simply stumbled across some 'steelhead' salmon... or maybe a genuine 'swordfish' or maybe a plain old 'goldfish'

On the surface, yes finding fish with a metal detector was a comical hoax, but todays fish finders are used in much the same way. Oh to "cache" the big one is everyones Treasure.
