I have seen a number of members showing the gold items they have dug, that's wonderful. However, how does one go about finding it? I know it shows up as foil, iron and sometimes nickel, so, today I did a test. First, I set a 24K man's ring on the ground with no other signals present. I think the rest of the items are 14K. My F75 was in AM motion, about 85 Sens, Threshold +1 and the ring targeted as nickel. Pinpointing worked well to about 12" air depth, then the signal began to fade. The gold bracelet gave very little signal in the foil range and the coil (the standard 11") had to be within about 4"-6". The charm (the thin ring with the butterfly) gave a better signal than the bracelet, again, in foil range. It would hold a pinpoint signal to about 6"-7". The little gold earrings would only give a signal when the coil was almost touching them and then it was rather faint.
I did try the AM static and Disc. modes with even worse performance. So, my question would be, how do you guys find the gold??
