Finding the patch

My wife and I have visited this field at least 8 or 10 times, it has yielded a few odd silver coins, 2 mediaeval and a badly clipped roman( late). However I was convinced that the field just had to have a patch that would give us a little more.
I was using the 11 in and my wife the 9 in coil, it is a large field and recently ill health has slowed me down . After a couple of hours and little to show for it we reached the far end of the field and I started to work my way up the edge , I was a fair distance up it when I realised I was being watched by a herd of deer, rather than disturb them I turned back, signal, an almost mint roman silver denarius,,, a few more paces and another . Then the bronzes starting comingup for both of us.
We had found the patch, unfortunately I was getting really tired and we had to call it a day, as we made our way back , another roman silver, regrettably damaged.
Can't wait to get back but the crops are starting to grow so we may not have much longer.

Great day of detecting. I'm sure you will remember where they are for next time.

Sure thing , back tomorrow, probably the last day as rain is coming this week and the crops will shoot up. We have a bit of drought and it's kept the sites open later than most years
