Headed home after work and got the "Itch" to hunt real bad. I managed a little over an hour, before it just got too dark. Daylight savings time is not good for this hobby.

On the plus side, it remained above freezing, no snow and did get some loot :thumbup"

Oh fiddle sticks! It will soon be snowing and you'll be cleaning up the slopes. You are the Detecting King, John!

8 inches of snow and -10 here.
detecting is kaput for this year..:nopity:

Yeah this starting to get dark at 4:30 PM sucks when during summer it doesn't get dark till about 10:30 PM or so. When I lived in Northern Idaho it didn't get dark until after 11 PM in the summer. I went out late last evening and just got started and my 1500 crapped out and by the time I walked back to the car to swap tectors it was too dark to see anything. Really pizzed me off as I hadn't found one coin as I didn't know the 1500 crapped out until I dropped a coin and checked it. I usually run my threshold at a faint hum so I know the machine is still alive but I didn't have it set at that last night so I was just swinging away like a big dumb dink while my tector was dead. Hard telling what I passed over.
