Chilly Southern Michigan morn, got a 25 cent haircut that ticked me off later when I found I nicked 'er. Lots of wheats here too, my bud also found a bunch. Pefect ground conditions for diggin! Really moist and soft soil for poppin plugs. So far we have a 100% success rate when knocking on doors. It's the best and we try to get permission at homes that look to be at least 100 years old. Thanx for looking, all

Nice Barber

I can't see where you kissed her, it's still a good find. Those old house sites are the best, and you never know until you ask. The worst that could happen is they say no, and I have been getting at least 9 out of ten YES's. My hunting buddy and I are going to a two and half story 1907 farmhouse tomorow. I just scored a YES tonight!

:cheers:Beautiful Quarter Ihave'nt found a barber quarter yet but still looking. Other good finds also WTG & HH

awesome finds i have yet too find a barber silver quarter great job

I have yet got up the guts to ask for permission to hunt a yard. With finds like that I sure need to. The soil is very good to your pennies in Mich.

Congrats on the success rate on getting permission to hunt homes! That's fantastic to hear! Congrats on the Barber Quarter and the rest of the finds as well. Your doing great for finds and hope you and your buddy keep popping out the Oldies. Continued Success, Good Luck and HH to you.:detecting:

Nice stuff AMC. What do you say to these homeowner's when you knock on their door's? Are you a stranger to these people? And you still get permission. Very good and there are thousand's and thousand's of houses to go to.
Continoued good luck,Gary

Gear box, asking for permission gets easier every time. My hunting partner and I go cold-calling as complete strangers. Sometimes we go it alone. I normally am very blunt as to my intentions to hunt their property. Be polite, up-front, but DO NOT be pushy. If you get a no, thank them for their time and move on down the road. I have gained permission at least two dozen times this year. I state that I am interested in digging small plugs on the property, with great care. If asked, we will show our finds, be it silver, relics, etc. I have also given owners coins such as wheaties and sometimes silver. Hard to do at first, but I'm in it for the fun, besides, how many mercury dimes can a detectorist covet? amc
