Finds from this past weekend

The Quattro strikes again. I keep finding good stuff at this construction site even though I see other guys detecting it when I'm there. I was going to try the all-metal mode with high trash density due to all the nulls (trash), but I got tired of that fast. I'll give that another try next weekend...The button is marked on the back: Wadhams coe & co. A Google search says this is approx from the 1830's.
The miniball, well, I'm not sure, so if anybody knows, please let me know.

Jt, you'd don't suppose the reason your finding all that good stuff is because you have one of the worlds greatest detectors and the other guys may not, do you?:| I'm being a little "snooty", here, but I wouldn't doubt that the Quatro goes deeper than theirs, possibly. At any rate, that's some GREAT, stuff. Very intriguing and old. Sounds like that site's not totally worked out yet. I hope those "other guys", don't get so jealous, they "hold you up, with a gun", and take your detector from you.:( Just playing with you a bit, but, Hey, I really think we have one of the world's greatest detectors.

Hey Beachguy, you are right about the Quattro being a great machine. The amazing thing is that I didn't really use any special settings to find these items, I just used the default Coin/Jewelry mode with the default low trash density

Jt, I think if you even want "more of an edge" look into the 5 or 8" coil to get even more "separation" if it's that trashy an area. I have the 5 inch and it's great for separation, (may not go as deep, although it seems to go pretty deep), but it'll save you some "brain damage" in the audio tone separation phase of it all. I had to "snicker a little" when you told me about the guy that got annoyed about you finding a great coin in the same area he was detecting in. I don't mean to be un-caring, or visicious about that, but, all I can say is I've owned "other" detectors, and I'm not saying they're all bad, but I've never had less problems and more depth and great descrimination than with my Quatro. I think the multi-frequency thing is the greatest advancent in detectors, maybe of all time and all I know is I hardly ever have any problems with mineraliztion with it whereas I had "tons" of problems with that with all the other single frequency detectors. I have to be careful what I'm saying here, not to step on too many toes, but that's been my experience and I'm talking black wet salty sand at the beach being "no problem with the Quatro". Try to do that with a lot of the sincle frequency ones. I think we have a winner here and glad to see your doing well with it. Marc.

Hello JT, A suggestion regarding trying all metal mode, my personal preference is all metal but with -10 rejected just to get rid of some of the frustration from the detector continually sounding off in trashy areas. I also persevere with the low trash setting but I do use a small coil, the coiltek joey.
