Had to work out-of-town this week in West Texas, so brought my detector for some evening hunting. The temperature maxed out at 110 degrees each day. But it was a dry heat. Found a site that had been recently cleared and was covered with old glass in some extremely dry sand. Must have been a place to dump trash back in the 40s because nothing was newer than that. Lots of iron mixed in, but I love these kind of sites. Added before-and-after pics of the 1904 O quarter. It was covered with stubborn minerals, but electrolysis took care of that. I've never found so many watch parts in one spot before. Below the harmonica reed is a brass plate for a M.Hohner New Echo harmonica that I can"t find any info on. The Echo was from the 1920s and 30s.The Travelers Insurance key fob is cool. The tower was built in 1919. Haven't found a RR date nail in decades, but found this 1918 laying on top of the ground. Lots if overall buttons, I assume. Found the old Shrader valve stem cap and a more modern one right next to it for comparison. Also found about 10 lbs of brass and copper for recycling. Thanks for looking.
