Finds with 8x6 SEF coil on T2 SE

Youngted

New member
Saturday 25th May. I fitted the 8x6 SEF coil to my T2 SE. using settings sens.60 disc20 and boost at first I found three poor quality 4th century coins. The next find was the 4th century finger ring as shown damaged by the plough. Next came a bronze handle used on a small vessel I would say. The last find was the Silver Denarius of Caracalla shown with a young head. he was one of two sons of Septimus Severus. The reverse is Sol the Sun God. the coin was issued in A.D.200. I was impressed at the target separation of the coil plus little depth was lost compared with the stock coil.A very useful tool

Nice finds..... I couldn't imagine finding coins that old......HH

Brian, that Denarius of Caracalla is in fine condition i found a few of them on a roman trading villa site about 2 years back and once again that was in fine condition as well, that SEF8x6 is fast becoming my favourite coil as well not only on the T2 but another detector of mine as well.

@tabman,out of interest what places do you hunt that is 1600 years old ???

Congrats on the great finds. I wish the 8x6 sef for the t2 was available in the USA. I tried to find one a while ago with no luck.
