First day out at a site hammered by everyone with a detector in south jersey since the 80's. Great detector! I even ran my ctx over this site several times, Amazing.

Put another mark in the Deus' "win" column! Nice job!

Great finds. Have fun tweeking the settings to optimize for each site.

What da hell? How could anybody miss that big Sterling ring or that silver dime even with a Radio Shack?? Let alone the tokens and the wheats?

I am very interested in what you think made the difference...was it the recovery speed of the Deus you think? Or what? Congratulations, mighty fine showing there, Sgtwilks!:clapping:

I don't want to pass on bad info so I will say I don't know what the ctx and other detectors missed these targets I do know there was an iron chain 3 inches above and off to one side of the silver dime. The ring was in the middle of some 42/43/45 signals. I think the deus may unmask silver in any condition. The ctx can be fooled easier. I can't believe there were 9 targets at this site I would of bet the house there was maybe one. That is not the only surprise. I went to another hunted out site where I was skunked repeatedly with the ctx and I found a merc and 2 wheat cents. I have been using the ctx for almost a year and ran an etrac and explorer also, I know how to use these detectors. It is a little unsettling considering I have almost 3 grand in the ctx and coils.

Coins will sometimes give just a blip if surrounded by nails, and on a cross scan come in better. Dig all of these targets, even the "one way" chirps before you can learn to discriminate those by audio alone. This detector will keep sniffing out tough targets - and the more hours of field time you get - it only gets better!

If bottlecaps get to be a problem, make a similar 4 khz program - this will knock out most of those pesky caps that other frequencies like to sing out on...good luck and keep us posted!

Nice first hunt. Sounds like you took to the Deus immediately. I know I did. The Deus unmasked many keepers in a yard I had been over a couple of times with the CTX! Mot to mention how light the Deus is! LOL!

Wow ... what a great first day - good job !
