I had several pargraphs written about all settings and numbers of each coin but forum kept loosing it just when I was ready to post last picture and it is late so will try tomorrow, boy it sucks when that happens as I am a slow typist anyway,Ray.

Ray
What settings were you using. Are did you just turn it on and go with factory coins?

You can make very tight patterns to accept certain desirable stuff with seemingly little loss of depth in pretty extreme ground conditions. Very smooth in the way it works.

That is very annoying when it happens. Here is a way you can save your text so that if the Forum loses it you will still have it. Every so often while you are typing your post highlight the entire text of the post. Once ti is highlighted right click on it. A box will open and one of the options in the box will be "copy". Just click on copy and the text will be saved. Continue working on your post and every so often repeat the procedure. Each time you click on copy the previous save will be replaced with the new copy. Now let's say the Forum loses your post before you can post it. All you have to do is open a new post window like you were starting over. Right click inside the text area. The little box will open up again. Only this time instead of clicking on copy you are going to click on "paste" and presto all your text will be back in the text area. Hope this helps!!!!

By the way....Great Finds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Ray.....I commiserate with you on loosing a post whilst it's under construction in the forum reply area..

When I can remember to do so, I write it up in WORD, with all its attendant benefits, then paste it into the forum slot for its final appearance.

You keep the original, and save yourself the the tantrums when Findmall times you out, or disappears for other reasons.********************8

It's good to read all the positive reports from new E-trac owners. I'm sure that the 'doubting Thomasa's will eventually join the surge to have one in their arsenal.

I am impressed when I read of, and hear about, all the pre-production effort and field work, that has preceded the final Minelab E-trac product.

For our part, it is only human to nit-pick and be overly cautious, when considering a new detector.

That's a healthy approach when spending your hard earned dollars.

That is why those who raise question on matters of interest regarding how a new product performs, are justified in doing so.

It also is important feed-back, to the manufacturer.

They appreciate sensible debate, but naturally smart when poorly thought out comments are bandied around and chewed over in posts.

"C'est la vie.".....................

It's 2-20pm. Saturday afternoon, here in he UK, and the sun has just come out...CHEERS...For the rain has been virtually non-stop this last 24 Hrs., so I'll pop this 'into the post', and take my E-Trac for a walk up the garden.

If there's no rain tomorrow, then I'm heading for some wide open spaces....E-trecking is my new buzz-word...........MattR.UK

p.s.:- Beachcomber's 'highlight-right click-copy' is OK, and uncomplicated, but not entirely safe.

It only keeps that copy in the temporary 'clip board' store.

Any un-towards action, mistaken key-stoke etc., could lose such temporarily held work.

Better to save it regularly, to a file

Clipboard Magic

I am going to keep on my system as sometimes I have to open up notepad to save different things for a post. Works great, just higlight a copy and bang it's on the page. The site where Clipboard Magic is ALL freeware. They have a ton of stuff so gorge yourself.

Here's several snaps of what it looks like:

I too have lost long posts late at night - too easy to do a "back" with my laptops touch pad and you lose the whole darn text most of the time. The code just needs to be changed to save the text or confirm a back with a pop-up when you have just typed a page of text and have not posted it - simple as that!
