Excuse my ignorance can someone explain the differences between bullets.
 
the way I understand one has 3 rings on the bottom and some have 2 but im no expert .
 
I am far from an expert. And there are a lot of people on this site with years of knowledge that could give you a great answer.

Civil war bullets are one of my favorite finds. Just the thought that 150 years ago a soldier, or a young man possibly in his teens had held it and was going to use it on another American and for whatever reason, whether he was nervous and scared and dropped it simply amazes me. The last person who touched it was fighting for his beliefs and life.
