First Barber of the season

Finally got out again today after a long week of no hunting. Decided to try the 8x6 SEF coil again and another place I've hunted before with the 11" Pro coil. Targets were few, but the signals are many, and I chased after lots of iffy ones to no avail. Did manage a Wheatie out from under a pull tab, so that was kinda fun. I tested my patience by hitting the trashiest areas, trying to pick out anything that sounded deep. And test it did! After a hunt that went way too fast, I finally got two more decent targets right at the end. One sounded for sure like it was going to be silver, but turned out to be a '45 Wheat (which must have been on its side, because it pinpointed about 3-4 inches to the left of where it actually was). The last target sounded more like a Wheat, but then actually turned out to be a Barber dime. Whew, glad to see some silver in the dirt finally!

Hope to get out again soon.

Congrats, DF! I'm still waiting on my first silver coin of the year. I'm averaging 3.2 wheats per hunt for the year, so it's just a matter of time. It's great to be out on the hunt again though. Later.....

Really nice. Is there a story about the dime.
