First beach hunt with DFX

OK, first time out with the DFX and found three rings, 1- gold plated sterling, 1- 14k men wedding ban with 6 small diamonds ,1- high school football championship ring, a cheap bracelet, and 3.29 in clad. The DFX was great going from ankle deep water to dry sand all day long. I used the beach preset, and turned the sweep speed down too 1. Deepest coin i found, was at 6.5" the 14k ring was in the water at 7". I think next time I'll try to get more depth out if it and mess with the AC, DC, and preamp.

Thanks for all the comments. Here is some of the answers for the Questions! I hunt Beaches in VA. I used the white's DFX, i have always used Garrett detectors, I still don't feel that I'm getting the depth that i was getting with the Garrett's. Can anyone suggest anything?
