First coin for the 705 and it's silver

OK, just had the new Xterra out in the yard for the third time. Probably have a total of 90 minutes on the machine. First targets were bouncing all around, but I dug them anyway, and they were can slaw, foil etc. So this time, I get my first stable signal, running from 36 to 38 on the TID. Three inches down and I have my first coin -- a Mercury dime in VG or better, dated 1944 S. I hope this is a harbinger of good things to come with this machine! A few minutes later I found a toasted Lincoln memorial cent. It bounced around in the 20s, hanging around 28 on the meter. Pinpoint mode works pretty darn well.

what a way to "break in" your X-TERRA. Congrats on the Merc. I hope it is the first of many. HH Randy

Good job Bill, I know how excited I was with the silver ring first time out. Maybe we should have the first time out silver club.

The amazing thing is that this 705 works just like detectors in Youtubes. I mean, I got the signal, pinpointed it, cut the U-plug with the Lesche and there is the coin. That simple. I can't tell you how many times I have dug what I thought were good signals with teh Old Garret T Ace 300 and either ended up with junk after a wild goose chase or nothing. This machine restores my faith in MD technology.

The good news is that for the most part, that feeling that you have when finding your first silver is about the same as when you find your 50th silver.

Nice job!!
