It has been winter here for a month now! The wihte stuff just keeps coming down! We have had winter storm after winter storm and another one will be here tomorrow! The good thing is it is keeping me very busy with work!:clapping: I heard a report that we have seen 40" so far and the norm would be 18"
Yesterday there were blizard conditions and we seen - 5 and windchills of -20! :surprised: There was a 35 car pile up and a 100 car pile up where an IL doctor was killed. Because of the extreme cold we lost heat yetserday. For those who do not know, when it gets around zero degrees fuel oil can start to jell (become like jelly) Then it won't go through the small copper line. It didn't take too long and I had it going again. We are surviving though. I hope everyone else is doing great!

we have global warming or it would be much worse.

the only good thing is your work that comes from it. Didn't know that about the oil jelling. Stay watchful, Steve in so az

Know what ya mean Mike. Its snowing again now. It will help raise the water table level in the spring and summer which is good for our well. Have had to haul my snowblower to work to cut through some of the 2 foot snow drifts and keep the walks clear. Their snowblower broke then was fixed and broke again so brought in mine which worked well then sheared a couple pins in 2 days time then was running well again and then the chike lever broke...and good thing I am good at cobbling things so it is running again. These type of winters sure are hard on snow blowers.

sounds like he needs a heater to heat the fuel oil that heats his house...strange. Luckily we have natural gas up here.

Glad you, Mike, and also Pete are good at fixing things, as you both would be in lots of trouble often with repairs to pay for! Like the old farmers and their wives, there were other ways to do things, for each learned to fix and repair their own equipment someway, somehow! God Bless you and may there be less cold whiteness, if that's what you want, or may Spring come quickly or at least some warmer days and thawing to get out detecting and keep from having cabin-fever! :) God Bless! Betty

Mike and Pete, I know what your talking about when it comes to snow fall. We are all ready at 100+ inches of snow and it's only December. Average is 250-300 for the winter. It has been -20 to +10 degrees here for 2 weeks. I keep my heating oil in the basement(no jelling when it's kept warm) along with all my firewood. 2 days without heat at 0 degrees will create all kinds of problems plus will put a dent in your pocket book. Stay warm spring is only 4 months away.

Ours used to be underground. Then when we bought the place my father in-law took it out and put a regular one above ground.
