First day with my Delta 4000 and I have a problem!

deepnails

Hello. My problem is I need to find the missing coin from this bracelet. How's that for a problem? Took the delta with the eleven inch coil for a test run in the square nail section of the old park, now woods and recovered this from around fourteen inches or so. Funny as I've hit this twenty by forty foot rectangle hard for the last seven years with all kinds of detectors. The soil here has been drenched with water so everything is charged-up including the square nails. I thought I was getting a bit of Iron overload like a rusted can but the medium tone was loud and clear. I would have dug more carefully if I thought anything of value was in the hole but after digging a foot or so I had a large hole and the delta still read iron and medium tone, mostly medium tone. Well another dig around the hole and I see what looks like aluminum fencing in the bottom of the hole so I just yanked it out, Opps! I probably tore the coins off. Hope you enjoyed the story, good luck! Darryl.

Hi Gorillajoe. This delta is one excellent detector. There is not much of a difference between the delta and the fifteen-hundred dollar machines. Of course the ground balance is the one feature it lacks that can make a big difference. I suggest getting the eleven inch coil, it seperates targets extremely well and goes deep. The bracelet I found yesterday had three or more nails in the hole with it but I still got a repeatable non-iron signal. None of my other detectors gave me a dig signal on this target including the explorer, safari, dfx, mxt, m6, cz3d, xt70, gti 2500 and others. These days you pay an extra thousand dollars for maybe an inch or two of depth and maybe a little better seperation but in this case no, the delta with the elevn inch DD beat out all others for this target so rest assured the delta is an excellent detector. Good luck! Darryl.

Great find. The delta is VERY underrated! One of the best entry level machines on the market.

Hello everyone. Well I recovered the tenth coin so the love token bracelet is complete. It took me about half an hour to locate it in amongst the square nails but it finally showed itself. Thank you Findmall for allowing me to share this special find, Darryl.

I know you need to exercise a little diplomacy since you are a multi-line dealer, but I'm all ears if you want to pm me with the make and model of another sub $300 detector as good or better. :detecting:

Opps sorry about the last nothing post. Brad I'm not sure where you got that Info. but I am not a metal dector dealer, never have been. I do like to buy and sell my Personal detectors just to try them out. I just bought my delta for $275 on ebay from a very polite fellow. In my opinion after using the Ace, Prizm three,F2,Alpha and the compadre I would choose the delta then the F2 with the prizm and Ace tied for third. The alpha and the compadre I had couldn't deal with the square nails were I generaly hunt. The alpha probably due to the cocentric coil is my geuss. My all time favorites are the GTI 2500, Safari, DFX and a properly tuned CZ3D. In my area the pre- mineralisation chip 2500's are awesome I can't add the T2/F75 because I have not spent enough time detecting with them, I'm sure they are awesome though and judging from my delta they may be the best unmaskers out there. Of course I know the secret, the best unmasker is your shovel! Good luck to all and thank you for letting me share once in a lifetime find, Darryl
