First day with the 6x8 SEF finds oldest KG copper yet!

My first day (yesterday) using the 6x8 SEF coil, and I found this King George I Farthing minted between 1717-1724. It's in bad shape, but I guess copper doesn't hold very well in the ground after 288+ years. lol This coil is amazing.

Congrats on a great coin! I don't think I will ever find something like that.

Nice coin, but dont worry it is the find that count, to me is a treasure too.
Congrats on it!!!
HH.

I agree. I don't care that it isn't worth any money, because to me it's value is in the history of it, and even though it's really beat-up, it was visible enough to identify, and that's all I'm happy about. At the very least it's 288 years old, and a British soldier could've dropped it. The idea of that is value enough. I love history, and this is the stuff that makes me happy. :)

That is my favorite coil to use. Wish we had those old coins down here in Louisiana. Nice find!!!
