So today was my first day to do some detecting and so I went out took my dad's bounty hunter discovery 3300 out on are property, all I found was a few aluminum cans and a old pin for a ball hitch for a truck, and I know I may never really find anything on our property because there are sagebrush where we live so a bit difficult for me to detect anyway's I will post finds and stuff when Im able to go detect at some old house's or other places. And also does anyone have a manual for a bounty hunter 900 thanks.

Sounds like you are off to a good start. It takes time to learn any detector. Keep at it. Good luck and HH. Matt

No manual, aparetly it isn't too easy to find. Anyway keep searching with the MD, You can find nice things out there.

I don't know what you're seeking or where, but you need to go where people congregated or there was frequent activity. On a sage brush hillside where few people would normally "hang out" might be kinda sparse hunting. If there's any foundations or old buildings nearby, check those areas. Look for where the outhouse, workshed, rear porch, laundry area, shady nook, etc. might be where things would be dropped and lost.

Another recent thread about a search for a 900 manual:

It might be similar enough to the BH 840or the 8400 to use that manual until something closer comes along. Both can be found here: http://www.whiteriverprep.com/vintage/bhvintage/bhvintage.html
