Read Mikes(Va Beach) post about electrolysis and decide to see what I could do about my 1916-D Walker. Sooo made myself a little setup and experimented with a cruddy no date SLQ. I will show before and after pics to show a sweet difference from the before [attachment 20107 silver05j.jpg009.jpg]and after pics[attachment 20108 silver05j.jpg011.jpg]. Just kinda hard to believe these are the same coin. I will attempt tomorrow to work on the Walker!

Nice job man! That stuff DOES work. I think the Walker is going to be beautiful...looking forward to seeing that.
One thing I do when I do mine is to let it fizz for a minute or two until it's completely shrouded in fizz, then take it out and use a little warm water and dishwashing liquid to gently rinse it to get some black off, then put it back in and repeat until it's perfect. The worse the black is, sometimes it takes a few sessions, sometimes it comes off real quick.

it takes away some silver. I've tried this once but don't have silver as black as your coin though. Here is a link to another method that claims to do the trick without removing any silver at all...

The coin looks great and would be hard to tell that it was ever black. Good job!
