Just got back from a night hunt at the beach here on the west coast. Been watching the tide, well tonight at 8:35 was low tide. Hit the beach with the beach hunter id chest mounted, got some clad then bang a ring. Couldn't see it because it was dark but I got excited when my finger went through it in the scoop, turns out this was a junker but got me pumped up. On the other side of the beach about shin deep I got a rise out of my threshold but no ID lights, from the tips from you guys I knew it was a little deep and to dig it. Took a big scoop out and checked the hole, it flashed yellow and the next scoop I was holding my first mens 14k gold ring with black onyx. I thought it was a class ring at first but when I got it in the light I was proud. It is 5.5 grams. I also got a set of those pirate earrings, they are fake but it was funny I found one first, then about 15ft away found the other. What's the odds of that, guess the treasure gods were good to me tonight. I am new to this water hunting, let me tell you I feel like I'm slowly becoming a pirate matey!! Can you tell I'm still pumped, thank you all for sharing tips and I will start posting more of my finds as they come.

Good job on the finds, from one west coaster to another!

About the pirate earrings.....the odds are better than you think. If they're lost together they're usually found together. About 15 years ago I found three square 18k rings with different colored enamel that were meant to be worn together in a two square foot area. good luck and welcome to the sport.

Good Job pards! Thats a sweet ring. I'll bet there is more where that came from....in the same area. Nicely done ya looter!

Musta felt good getting that ring. Congrats. :beers:

NOW GET BACKOUT THERE AND LOAD ye OLDE CHEST!!

GOOD STORY...thanks..Obn

Nice one flbowhunter. Glad you read those tips about the rises in threshold without any light ID. I always dig those signals too.
