<img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)"> Lucky Me!! Just found my first gold (10k) ring on the beach with Excel. I was running disc 0 and sens 9. It was a small childs ring and came in +3.

Hey w242, any chance of posting a photo? Say, with a dime next to it? And do you have a ball park depth number? Also was this a saltwater or freshwater beach? If saltwater beach, where were you on the beach, wet sand, damp sand etc. ? Any chatter?
Not many questions huh! The deal is I found what I believe may be a similar ring with another machine, and would like more info to compare it with.
Thanks for any further data!

Sorry about all the posts. Looks like the one with most views came thru. At first I was a little curious about the Excel. It seemed too good to be true. On the beach it will do everything but wet sand and ground balancing is impossible. No matter, I am as surprised as you are with this find. Just got to dig a lot of foil.

Thanks W for the pics, very nice ring! Any idea how deep?

Hey W,
Hope you don't mind but I cropped and reposted your photo. Such a nice find I thought everybody should have a chance at seeing it!

Your right too about digging all that foil.
I hunt sports fields and I usually have quite
the foil collection. No luck in getting a ring
like that though, just a lot of digging that
most would probably pass on by for the easier
coin type targets. Congratulations on such a
nice little ring !

and thanks for letting us know it was only a +3. I always say with the C$ & Excel that small gold will be in that single digit range. This is why I always keep my Excel disc @ 00. The FP mode, I think, puts you @ +6 to cancel foil so you would have missed it.
Nice find! <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)">
