First Goldring with my Explorer SE:happy:

I searching a river bank today and was lucky to find this goldring. I was using a tight "learned coins pattern" using the small cursor window for cherry picking a few specific coins including nickels. This ring gave a sputter signal and barely gave much of a signal in the small window i had opened for small nickel coins. I decided to dig the signal anyway and was surprised to unearth the ring...

Great find. Can't beat the feeling when you see that gold or silver peaking out of the dirt or sand!! What will be next?? Troop

I know you haven't asked but I can't help but give you a tip.
Please try hunting with less discrimination. You will find a lot more surprises.
Nice ring, congrats my friend.

Thats a good tip bob less discrimination = more gold ring finds:beers: .
On some certain types of coin shooting sites i like to use the learn feature to cherry pick over a concentrated strip of land , cherry picking my learned coins out of the soil , once i have well worked the strip of land using this method i then thoroughly re -work the site in iron mask and pick out all of the missed targets. This is when the rings can be found. In high trash the learn feature can miss many good targets because of nulling out because of trash masking. This method works well for me on some coin shooting sites. The learn feature can speed up the good finds rate ..On farmland i always search in iron mask. Another method is to work a strip of land with the stock coil and then re work with smaller or larger coils this works good too at picking a strip of land clean.. I now clean sites out foil , tabs , bottle tops infact everything this gets you the thin rings with stones in , you also get blisters with all of the digging. The crosshair is deadly accurate on pull tabs , i can tell 9 times out of ten that i have got a pull tab under the coil ,even the shape of pull tab!.. The discrimination on the explorers is totally unbeatable!
