Well Saturday and today I went to my 1st house in a very old (!890 circa) neighborhood. The lady said they had lived there less than a year, and the house was empty for about 6 months before they moved in. No camera but Saturday produced a 1921 large British penny in great shape, 2 silver mercs 1937 and 1940, 2 silver roosies, 1863 indian perfect condition, and about 12 wheats. Today I went back and found a 1947 silver Balboa Panama dime, 4 more silver mercs, a 1908 Barber dime pretty worn, a half dollar size British 10 pence, a couple tokens and about 12 more wheats, Everything was deep at least 7" to 9". NOW GET THIS...Not one clad coin was detected...I can't figure that. It seems as if the yard was checked in the past and the deep stuff was missed. The lady of the house said that the house next door was vacant so I checked it for awhile and didn't even hear one signal, as if my detector was broke but when I threw a coin on the ground it sounded off fine. Since it was vacant, someone else got there first. When my son gets here with his camera I will take pictures. What's so nice about checking house lawns there is very little trash if any at all. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention..today I also found a Sterling Silver butter knife with a manufacture date on it and it said Rogers July 9 1907.
