First hunt of 2012 - short on finds but

Agseeker

New member
long on fun. Only found three coins -- a 1976 bicentennial quarter, 1928 Buffalo nickel and 1925 Mercury dime. We were hunting some vacant lots in the older part of town that have been pretty heavily hunted. Don't know about the rest of you, but I'd rather find a few old coins (especially silver) than a bucket full of new ones.

Sorry, no pictures. I don't have digital camera. I've decided to save up all my clad and newer nickels that I find to finance one.

i agree,,, give me just ONE oldie and my day is made,,,,

"Long on fun" is the main part. I don't like getting skunked, but its still fun.

Congratulations on the finds.

Nice beginning !!!

Hey guys, thanks for all the supportive comments; means a lot. I agree with you NebTrac; I've been shunked a few times. My hunting buddy was with me and he didn't find a single coin. He was pretty ticked. I felt bad for him--I've been there.
