High 40's on Sunday got out for a couple of hours.Stepped out of car had two quarter hits before I could find a place to ground balance.Had to hunt for thawed ground.Funny mud is hunting in the snow and Ii was in the warm sushine.Hunted right by main feeders and no noise with upgraded f 75!!

Excellent! I had to drive to Chicago yesterday for a Trade Show...there were spring peepers in the ditches just 70 miles south of here and no snow at all along I94...I am in some little nasty pocket of cold right over here on the Lake I guess!

We can only hope. The sun has been out and melting the snow, and my front yard - where I blew the snow towards the middle around our circular driveway - has formed a crater pond . . . that re-froze. We still have feet of snow on the ground! Yuck.
My father-in-law used to say "it's not spring until the peepers sang three times - and I don't mean: peep, peep, peep."
There have been years we planted peas in the garden on Good Friday. This won't be one of those years.

If the muskrats are moving in the ditches, and those peepers are going, its a good sign...I thought I had tinnitus yesterday, Whats that? A fan belt squeaking? No! Its peepers! Horray!
I am almost inclined to throw my gear in Rosie and make a run into Indiana for the weekend to mop up those places I got into in early Dec of last year...One of my buddys invited me to go water hunting today up here with him today...I think he was looking to use me for an icebreaker though!
