First hunt with Deus yesterday

Went to a well known city park yesterday, broke her out and was impressed by the simple ground balance procedure off the bat,I went with pumping and it was 2 pumps and done(LOL),NICE, I was worried about it,fear dismissed...started with basic 2,and did switch every so often to different programs to see what happened.. I forgot to grab my vdi cheet sheet so I was going off of memory...not good..so I dug everything that I thought was a good signal above 70,changed that after 10 or so tabs and went to 80 and up,after a few screw caps and rusted coke caps and more tabs I broke the e trac out located a definite dime/ memorial penny and went back with the dues, and checked out its sounds and numbers and almost right away I started digging 88 up and got way better targets and was suprised to even find as much clad and another religious pendant(not silver)as I did where I was hunting,as we crushed it again and again, with e tracs, and some other machines and even got a pocket spill with 2 quarters a dime and a memorial along with a zinc penny that was toasted,no clue how that was missed... it was under a tree where everyone and there mother has been...it will take some getting used to but this is a nice LIGHTWEIGHT machine, that's crazy fast and definitely has a place in my arsenal,I can't wait to try it on a old home or farm field,I really think it will be deadly there,my only complaint is no true multi-tone for every vdi,4 tones is not enough to indentify targets distinctly by sound in the trashy parks, please e mail Xp and let them know this would be a great feature to add for us guys over here with all the conductive trash we have here,I already sent one myself, going out in a bit,ill post hunt 2 results tonight or Saturday,H.H.Mole

my only complaint is no true multi-tone for every vdi, 4 tones is not enough

UNBELIEVABLE

I would lay a bet that you couldn't even whistle or sing 20 tones, never mind distinguishing 90 or more.

Four tones, wisely assigned, should have you singing a different tune in a few months time.

I can't wait to read your reports when you wise up to the the DEUS's superior capabilities....."Bonne chance, mon ami."

Dear Marshall,I have to disagree,I can hear tones just fine lol and the subtile differences in tones,I'm spot on,oh I'm sure I will learn her just fine,I'm sure of it! And I do like it a lot! as I know it takes many hours in the field, and Rome was not built in a day or week so no worries I am in good shape and it was my personal observation and most likely is rooted in me being very used to another machine that has many more tones with high variability on the pitch,so take it easy I'm just passing my observations as I go,and just thought it would be a great tool for my soil/trash conditions, and please share any and all info with us that you can,we can all use it!! Thanks Mole

Even if you did have many tones, the chances of them matching up coin for coin to your other detector are slim... so you would still have a bit of a learning curve. You will get it real soon once you've dug a few targets and get the VDI's in your memory.

Thanks guys,I do see what you both are getting at,I'm going to try 3 tone with 85 and up as my high tone next time as most targets I am after fall in 85+, and disc at 45 to cut down on foil hopefully that will keep most pulltabs a lower tone for now till I get a better understanding of it,thanks a bunch,Mole

Glad you got your machine.. I think you will like it... there is a way to figure out some of the bottle caps.. I'm getting better at it..
