First hunt with my new T2 SE. Hats off to Dave Johnson, Mike Scott and the Tek Team :cheekkiss:

2 Much Trash

Well-known member
Got my new T2 Se last week and just got out yesterday to try it out for a few hours. Guys, all I can say is Lordamercy. My buddy and I have been a pounding a new (to us) spot for the past 6 months. Hunting it so hard that we were considering it a hunted out spot. For lack of time we decided to hit it again yesterday before moving on. We both own 3 different detectors and have used them all at this site on each hunt hoping one of them would produce a little more than the last. There's this one area about 150 ' x 75' that we search extra hard each hunt because we had found a couple of buttons and a few bullets there on our first few first trips to this site but nothing since then. The amount of iron and other trash limited our success. After arriving being completely unfamiliar with the T2 I got it out of the truck, told my buddy I'm going to try this new machine first and hunt that little area with all the trash. So I put the head phones on, ground balanced at 62, set the disc at 40 so as not to here the trash, started sensitivity at 95 but reduced it to 75 to eliminate the chatter, then put it in BP. I was a little concerned about losing too much depth at 40 disc. but everything you see here was 8 to 12 inches deep, and that's no fish story. I never changed my settings throughout the day other than sensitivity as ground conditions, etc. changed. Chatter was not an issue whatsoever. This is what came out of the hunted out spot using the T2 for the first time. I know that I have much to learn about this unit as sites and conditions change but boy I'm I looking forward to it. I've been relic hunting since the 70's so I'm what some of you guys would call an ole fart  but for you who are searching the forums for one of the best VLF detector for relic hunting, all I can say is search no further. This detector is awesome. Here's to ya :beers:
Thanks Bart, Big Boys Hobbies, for straight up 100% customer service.

Congrats on all the finds. I am pleased with mine. Went out last weekend and decided to try a few different settings. Disc.@20...Sens@ 85-90...BP. Deepest target was a C.W. bullet @ an honest 14". All the rest were 4-10". This past weekend I used the same settings at a different spot...all the bullets were 8-12". Also dug a silver plated flat button. I am liking this detector!!!

That's awesome Hanover. I'm just shocked at the performance of this detector. After 30 minutes of swinging it I felt like I'd been using it for years.
Take care neighbor,

Man that is awesome!!! Hopefully I have finds like that to look forward to. I'm real new to this forum. I just bought a Teknetics T2 SE from Detector Electronics Corp., should have it tomorrow. They treated me real well. I plan on my 13 year old son using my Lonestar with DD coil and me using the Teknetics T2 SE. I live in west central Ohio. Got a lot of farm fields and a lot of parks to check out. My fathers property has a creek running through it and I have always been curious what went on along the banks way back when. thought there might be some interesting finds there. Not to mention a couple decent sized rivers run through this area and a 50,000 acre manmade lake with miles of shoreline. any advice on how to hunt along creeks/rivers or any place for that matter. Any and all advice or opinions much appreciated. I'm new at this so i need all the help i can get. I'd really like my son to take off with metal detecting and this could be our thing...HH

Thanks all
