First hunt with the Fisher CZ7A...

I received my Fisher CZ7A today with three coils, a 10.5

and not being able to try out the machine until spring. I thought it might be the only opportunity to try it out, LOL! HH, Mike

Sounds like you did OK for your first effort, & I kinda like that suran wrap thing. Never heard that one before <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)"> That's a cool little find as well. I remember my first hunt with a CZ-6 I felt exactly the same & was just happy to find a musketball. Like you said, I was just happy to be able to take it right out, ground balance & get a hunt in the day I got it. Your 100% correct that at first pinpinting with the 10.5 coil is a bit awkward. It's because of that solid eliptical foot in the center, & there's no hole or "bullseye" like the 8". But if your after depth I would just stick with learning that coil. You will get better at pinpointing with practice. So was the "small problem" the weather, your boots fulla water, or finding alotta foil? Foil is the hot gold range on that unit so ya may have to just dig it. I know I dug tons of foil in England....
