First hunt with the T2 with the upgrade

First time in a new spot. The detector ran really quiet @ 99 sens. 0 disc. BP and this is how I hunted today. DST was off, no power lines to deal with. Will try all metal next time out. The 3 confederate bullets were in the same hole at about 6" deep. The percussion caps were nearby. Not pictured is a cellphone I found. Still works after I charged it up. I got into the phones email settings and was able to get an address. Waiting to hear from the owner. LOTS more to be hunted in this spot and could possibly lead to more spots!! Thanks for looking, Robert

Are you saying the upgrade makes the t2 run quieter even when not in DST Mode. Does this affect the depth? Also, i read the f75 upgrade had a lot of problems. Does anyone know of any problems that they are having with the T2 Upgrades.

Thanks

John

Before the upgrade, it was "chatty" in BP at a higher sens. setting. So I guess the answer is yes to your first question. Mine ran quiet @99 sens. 0 disc. BP. As for depth, I dug a few cans at least 12" that were evidently buried by a relic hunter. Probably to mess with other hunters no doubt. This was my first hunt since getting the detector back w/ the upgrade. Haven't heard of any problems yet. Maybe too early? All I can say is mine did fine and will post up my finds as the season progresses, depth, settings, etc. Haven't tried the AM side yet, but will give it a go this weekend. I did run the detector w/DST out front that has power lines overhead, no chatter @99 sens. in AM. Hope this helps. Robert

@HanoverDigger,thanks for the update after the upgrade, just a quick question did you find that the T2 gained any depth advantage after the upgrade as i am get really interested in upgrading my T2 which as served me well for years.I also use the large SEF15x12 coil for deep pasture and hoard hunting which turns the T2 into a very deep machine but could it give me small increase in depth after the upgrade gut feeling tells me it could well do.

Thanks for taking the time to give some feedback

Hello Mega B. It's too early to tell if there is any depth advantage w/the upgrade. Haven't dug anything deeper than those buried cans I mentioned in my last post. The detector sounded off real good on those if that helps any. I can say the T2 hit some deep bullets w/ the NEL Hunter coil @ 14+" which isn't on at the moment. I will probably go with that coil this weekend. I think the upgrade will not disappoint in the depth department. Good luck finding those hoards! Hope to see your finds on Nat Geo! Robert

Thanks for the info. Im thinking about selling my deus and just upgrading my t2.

I have read a report from a detectorist using the T2SE in upgrade it beat the Deus on many signal the deus just did not get the signals I have sent mine off to El Paso and wait for the results!!

I have also read a few similar reports, but from also owning both of these detectors albeit i dont own the new upgraded T2 the Deus must be seen as much more flexible machine as a result of being able to change just the freq's on it own and also adjsuting so many other essential settings as well.

I am not knocking the T2 or its variants as i still like my T2 as a everyday machine, but i run my T2 and Deus together to compliment one another on various sites that i detect on,no one machine can do it all but for most situations both machines mentioned above will do for me.

I have just tested the new T2 DST against the deus,T2 had the nel tornado coil 12 x 13 on and the deus had the 11" coil on running software 3.2..These are uk soil conditions and we buried a silver hammered cut qtr at 8",the dues user was using a programme called garys hot tones with zero scrim reactivity 2 and sensitivity was on 94 it wouldn't go higher, a lot of people use this programme in the uk me included when i had my deus , the T2 was in 1+ tones on the 9.0 software which is dst mode,90 sensitivity so wasn't maxed out t, now the dues got a very very tiny whisper if you was out detecting it would not have been picked only we knew the item was where it was we could hear it, the T2 was giving a full tone dig signal, Then we buried it 10" i used BP mode no problem item picked up,deus no signal..Am not hear to preach mine is better than yours at the end of the day the main thing is to be happy when you go out but these T2s and f75s with new software are going to be very hard to beat IMO,obviously there not wireless but that is not a issue to me.Good luck and HH

Looks like pretty good results. I'll be sending mine in. I wonder how it would have done in fast mode?
