First Hunt

I use to hunt with old Radio Shack unit, but I have not been out for several years. I have been reading the forum and got an Ace 250. I made my first trip on 1/31/09. I hit two parks and spent 4 hours. I used the 4" Sniper coil. I found the following: 12 tabs, 2 tokens, 25 pennies, 5 nickels, 15 dimes, 6 quarters, one .50 pesos, and one $10 pesos. I use to get frustrated with the old unit, but the Ace 250 has gotten my hopes up. I going back today to hit the same area and try the bigger coil and dig some more. This is in the Garland, Tx area.

It's nice to have confidence in a machine. Sounds like you did good to me! Welcome to the forum.

Mike,

I just got a near new ACE 250 myself and I am happy with it! It hits coins so solid! I am sure you will be happy for a long time with this machine!

Yes, it gives you some control and enough information to make a decision on digging.

The more you use it, the more you will learn that it can give you a lot more information than you thought. Go around swings. If you get any signal jumping from foil to nickel, dig it. You will dig some foil, but it could be a woman's gold ring with ice. Nickel is good for man's gold rings.

Almost everyone who has an Ace says it's a great value.

And if you live in Garland, TX you darn well better buy a Garrett!
