First Impression of the 12 x 13 Nel Coil

all iron

Member
Received my 12 x 13 Nel coil from the Ukraine Yesterday and had a little time tonight to play.
It took 14 days to arrive

EMI is no less but in fact a little worse than the 11 inch coil.
I think it stands to reason, the larger the coil the more EMI you can expect.

Hits a little bit harder on the quarter i have buried in the yard at 9 inches.

Headed over to a field not far from home where i have been finding 3 ringers. I was able to pull 6 more out this Evening.
Most were at the 8 and 9 inch depth.
Pinpointed well
Depth meter while pinpointing hit an all time high ( actually saw 8 ) on the meter
Really not sure if this is because the coil was finding deeper targets or if i just expected it to so i was looking deeper than usual.

Just some quick observations in my dirt.
PS: it will make the 11 inch coil feel like the 5 inch coil when i switch back.
I think this is a nice coil for field hunting

Was this on the T2 or the Omega?

How was the weight and handling compared to the 11" DD coil?

Thanks and HH,
Brian

using it on the Omega
Heavier than the 11 inch for sure but still feels ok

dug up a couple deep Wheaties and 2 old pocket knifes today

Thanks for the interesting observations. Are you finding that depth readings are accurate with that coil? That was one of the first things I noticed when I first got my Omega was how accurate depth readings seemed to be. I have seen a couple of 8"-10" depth readings with the 11" coil. One I didn't want to dig because of where I was and the other was a good target. HH jim tn

I think the depth readings for me are more accurate than my 11 inch coil.
Been hunting in discrim at 16 and 1 tone , listening for those week signals that barely come through.
Pinpoint has been no problem.

Still no silver but some other neat finds.
