These 2 find are from my lawn which dates to the mid-1800s. I have found about 15 cents in newer coins, a Hard Times Token and lots of rusted nail and other metal...

Just wait until you find your first Silver with your New Detector. Then you will be hooked for sure. Hope you find a few more good targets in your yard. Good Luck and HH.

I would look at the screen and Dig everything and take notes what each find is,And you also remove trash to find better targets deeper.

That sound like a great idea but, my lawn is so ald and full of trash that I'd ruin it.

I have so much trash here that it's hard to target good stuff. I've gotten some silver sounding bleeps that I can't reproduce because of the strong iron signals.

This is what I do. I run in Digital and look and especially listen for the sounds I want and the Numbers I am looking for. I dig anything from 23-30 Conduct with the exception of 31 sometimes because sometimes Good Targets or Coins will read that high due to Iron Content in ground, anything around 4-7 due to Nickels being on edge and also the War Nickels will read a bit higher than the Normal Nickel, run Sens. 22 Semi Auto, and grid an area. But to get the most out of your detecting, you would most likely want to dig it all. I am not saying dig everything in your yard at one time but gradually go out and dig a few every now and then and see what you come up with. It sounds like you may have some good hidden older Coins in your yard and the only way to find them would be to gradually dig and remove some of the items so you can find the deeper targets that are under the Trash. Most likely, if you use the Digital Screen, the Numbers may bounce around a bit due to the Trash in the ground so dig anything that sounds good and if it isn't anything good when you recover it, then just think positive and tell yourself that, that is one less piece of Trash to worry about. Good Luck and HH.

Thanks James. I'm sure I'll be working at it for a long time.

At least it give me some place close at hand that I can detect when I only have an hour.

It give me a very closer place to hunt when time is short.
