First outing of 2010

It is nice to be out hunting again now that the snow is gone! Went to an old farmhouse in Manilla, Iowa that I had hit before with my toy Bounty Hunter. I had found a '47 quarter on my last outing, but that was it. So now, with the Safari, I have been hitting all these places again, and having some really good luck. So, after work last Friday, I hit this old farmhouse and get a solid 38, and out pops the '57 quarter. Then, a few minutes later, the GAR veterans star. I thought that was pretty cool, and it is numbered in the 34000 range. Then a few wheaties, and the nickel. It was getting late, so I said to myself, I will dig one more hit. Another 38 pops up, and it is the '45 Merc, so by now, I am pretty stoked, and say to myself, one more. Another 5 feet, and bam, another 38!
The 1914 barber popped up, and I was feeling really gooooooooood, so I ended the evening there. 2010 has been good to me so far.

You got to love the number 38, I dig just about everything that is 38 cause it is almost always a coin.

I found my first silver wedding band (womens size 7 or 8 ring), no stones or anything, just a band that was 925 silver. It was a reading of 39 at around 2-3" deep, I was expecting the 39 to be a coin but turned out to be a ring, I was happy.

Anyways, good finds, hope you are enjoying that safari as much as I am.
