First Platinum with GQSS ??

Found this unusual 18k gold chain and Platinum pendant.
The hallmark shows "P" and "999". Maybe they couldn't fit "PLAT" or even "PT" on the pendant.
The small pendant (ugly as it is !) weighs 5 grams, so I have ruled out fine silver.
The chain has an 18k hallmark......surely this has to be Platinum.....Terry in Hawaii, are you out there <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)">

Tony, While I have not seem a platinum item marked 999 at least here any way. And since you say that is very heavy for it size and it is marked with the letter P. It sure does look like you did get your first piece of platinum! What does the other side look like?

a Plat. expert (only found 1 myself) but sure like the chances for you that it is...Terry is the plat guy....Frank

I hope it is Platinum, but it may be silver and from Mexico or another Spanish country, they sometimes use a P for Plata (silver)and the 999 for purity. Take it to a jeweler, and I'm sure they can give it a quick check. Good luck.

Terry,
The other side is the same, except for a small gold inlay. Overall dimensions about 9mmx5mmx4mm.
Acid has no effect on it all.
Thanks for the reply,
Tony.

I know Platinum is near enough to being twice as heavy as Silver, with specific gravities of 10.5 and 21.5 respectively, so I'm hopeful <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)"> <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)"> <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)">
Thanks for the info...

Being that you are in Australia, it is not as likely something from South American, Spanish countrys would be there. So I would think it is platinum also, probably homemade by someone. Interesting item.

Tony, Thanks for showing the outer side of your pendant. I am now very sure that it is platinum! Way to go!
