First Post...and first (3) hunts with my new ETRAC!!!

Just got the new Etrac the day before Thanksgiving and had a chance to take it out a few times! This is one SWEET machine. I sold an Explorer SE to purchase the Etrac and am very happy with the decision. Just a couple observations on the difference. I have found the ET to be much better is high trash areas. I detect a lot of parks and schools where there is a lot of modern trash littering the hunting areas. This machine will "sniff" a coin out of some of the most heavily trashed areas I have ever seen......might be the new pro coil that helps in that too!

Another observation is that I have found the "pinpoint" to be much better on the ET. In fact, you don't really even have to use the Pinpoint function. The machine will almost Pinpoint on its own...saving time (this also might be a function of the pro coil???). The depth on this machine is truly remarkable. It loves dimes and quarters and will sniff one out at 8" no problem, in the sandy soils of eastern NC. I have found the descrimination to be awesome on this machine too! If it reads 12/45-46 is it is a clad dime. If it reads 12/46-47 it is a clad quarter or small silver. All and all, this is the most awesome coin hunting machine I have ever had in my hand, and I have owned quite a few over the years.

Some have asked if there is a difference in the sound on "deep silver". Yes, there is a difference in sound if your ears are really sensitive to high frequencies. There is a distinct difference between a clad quarter and a silver dime in sound. But the difference is very, very subtle and the meter will be almost the same. I can best describe the difference in pitch as TING A LING A LING A LING A LING A LING for silver dime ......versus......TENG A LENG A LENG A LENG A LENG for a clad quarter. I have found both to read 12/46-47. In either case, the sound is very repeatable in all directions for both. I found a silver ring that had the TING A LING sound with a reading of 11/48-49.

Now......if someone can give me instructions on how to get my 1.2MB photos of my finds sized down to the 420K that is allowed here for a download, I will post some pics of the first three outings.

Hope this helps some of you who are "on the fence" about buying a new ETRAC. From a former Coinstrike, CZ3D, Garrett, Minelab EX SE owner.......buy an ETRAC. You won't regret it!!!

Thanks,
Robert

If you will load your pictures into paint, then click on image then click on resize and skew. Then in the resize boxes change them both to 25 and leave skew alone. I think this will lower it enough to post

Robert, I have on my computer Microsoft Office Picture Manager. It either came with my computer or is a part of Microsoft Office?? Anyway I find my picture I have stored on my computer and right click mouse and pick open as. If you have the Mirosoft Picture Manager it will be a choice to pick. Click it and it will open your picture. In the top tool bar click picture and drop down hit compress. To the right of the screen will be several choices to choose from pick documents and this should give you a suitable size to post AND when the posted picture is clicked on it will enlarge the photo for real good viewing. Hope this helps.
I will upload an example as to how it will enlarge on clicking the forum upload.

Irfanview is a very good photo editor as well and is a free download.

Congrats on the new purchase and the best of luck to you

Thanks guys!!! I actually got to looking around in my computer files (which I had never done before) and found a sample of Microsoft Digital Image in there. That is actually what I used and it was very easy! Thanks again for the assistance!!!! Now......if I could just figure out how to get my cheap little camera to zoom in on my images so I could show a closeup, I would be in good shape. I don't think is has a Macro......or at least I could find one.

The large token in the top of the screen is a "Desert Storm Deployment token" and is pretty neat.
