First RIng Recovery With My CTX 3030:thumbup:

Yesterday I got a call from a lady that lost her engagement ring in a communal garden a week ago. In the meantime we have experienced torrential downpours on almost a daily basis. She told me that she has had 4 different friends who own metal detectors come out to try and locate the ring with no success and so naturally I decided this would be the perfect opportunity to test the CTX 3030.

I gridded out the entire garden, which was about 100 yards by 100 yards. This garden area is one of those sectioned off plots of gardens that people can rent. The lady that lost her ring has three plots there that are each 20'x20'.

I started by scanning each of her plots and when the ring didn't turn up, I started adjacent plots. I then decided to check all the walkways even though I was told that she didn't spend any time in them.

After an hour and a half total at the site, I located the ring! It is a 14K white gold with a one and a quarter carat yellow diamond.

Yesterday I did quite extensive testing on gold items with the CTX and I am surprised that this topic hasn't come up yet because I am finding that the CTX 3030 is MUCH hotter on gold than the E-Trac.

The ring came up as a solid 12-06 by the way and target trace showed iron as well which isn't a surprise as this place had tons of trash (which I didn't have to dig thanks to the brilliant information given by the detector).

The CTX 3030 is a winner for me at this point. I just can't wait to get some waterproof headphones so that I can test it in the lake.

Thanks for reading and HH -Marc
