After years of detecting I finally found my first gold ring! It's only 10K. The sad thing is, I was detecting a swing set area at a park and I spotted it before I even ran my coil over it!
 
Well a find while MDing is a find......
If you had not gone MDing you would not have found it......
It counts in my book.....

After 5 years you deserve it. I understand your negative thoughts on it being an eye find, but like it was said...you did find it While MDing. That ring is a beauty Congradulations:clapping:
 
Great find! First gold and first silver coin always stay with you. Nice to see you got one in good shape. My first few good rings were mangled and smashed.

Look at it like this. If you did not go out with the intent of finding things with your detector, you would have never found that.....( KARMA)
 
That's a beautiful gold ring, and in such good condition, congrats on your find, you just had the opportunity to retrieve it before it laid buried in the ground for years getting corroded! Thanks for sharing.
 
Yep, it counts, as long as you had a detector in hand at the time, if you eyeball one walking across a parking lot, it only counts as half a "detecting find", since you got used to looking for stuff by detecting, but were not officially detecting at the time...its a real beauty, and a great First ring trophy!! Congratulations!:clapping:
