I played around it a bit in my test garden first. I had an omega 4 years ago, and a T2 last year, so I'm somewhat familiar with these badboys.
I went to the local park, near an area where the saddle club has a riding area. There was one area that was loaded with trash, I hit that area first with the 5" coil.
I ended pulling 18 clads out of that mess, including 2 nickels. I like finding nickels. One quarter was 5" deep, one pulltab was 7" deep. I had the sensitivity set too high, at 90.
Detector ran ok, but some of the trash was sounding good, including that deep pulltab. I thought I had a deep quarter at first. I was running disc at 25, 3 tone , sens usually around 70. Not bad for an hour and a half.
I put the 11DD coil on next, headed out into a cleaner area. Deepest quarter was 5" . Soil is rather dry. We are getting a good soaker tonite, so my conscience told me it was ok to cut a few plugs.
I hit a few more clads, then tried the delta pitch setting. I kinda like the audio. Coins really stand out. I went back to the trashy area, off to the side closer to the building. More coins. I then dropped the disc down to 1.
The noise was not bad, and the machine gives a faster response, as the signal does not have to go thru much of the filters first. My first good sounding signal ended up being a coin spill of about 20 coins in a 6 inch circle, 1/2" deep. I almost pitched my new ultra sensitive TRX pinpointer in the trash can, until I figured out what it was.
I finished my 3 hour hunt with 50 clads, almost $6 worth. I was a bit disappointed with my totals, as I was hoping to keep up with Mudpuppy, paying off his detector with clad every time he goes out!! LOL..
An awesome park machine for sure. Looking forward to tomorrows hunt.
