First shipment of Deteknix HD Headphones for the WS4 Puck Have Arrived

Andy Sabisch

Well, the first shipment of the new Detektix headphones that accept the WS4 puck has arrived . . . . and are available in limited quantities.

They offer another option for WS4 owners that want an over-the-head set of headphones. The audio quality is on-par with the XP phones and they are extremely comfortable even when worn all day.

A few added features include the replaceable padded headband, replaceable padded ear muffs, a carrying bag and a cord that allows you to plug one end into the remote control in case your puck runs out of power in the field.

The real innovative part is that they were designed specifically for the WS4 puck rather than attaching an adapter plate to the outside of a set of standard set of phones. The puck simply slides into the one ear piece and it looks like it was made as one piece when it is on. This eliminate the potential to break the adapter loose and have to get them repaired.

While we had been recommending the Central Soundz Wireless Whispers - and I still have a set for one of my Deus units - the problem was that they were hand made in the UK and getting enough sent through customs was making stocking them an impossibility.

These are backed by Deteknix so warranty service is not an issue and having spare parts if needed readily available is a real plus.

They offer a real value at $99.95 + $5 shipping in CONUS.

If you want to get one from this initial shipment, we have some remaining and they can be ordered by clicking HERE.

I can't find any specs on them. Do you know what the ohm rating of the speakers might be?

To be honest, I have found that Ohm ratings often do not tell the whole story. In the case of the HD headphones, the sound is on par with XP's and as far as sound goes, that is what I base my decision on which set I use.

Thanks anyway , I found some specs.
32 ohm
I found running the 150 ohm headphones through the WS4 set-up sounded a little fuzzy ,,,sort of lazy.

Do they really have the exposed wires like in the photo? If so, I don't think they would be a very good choice in the dense brush that some of us hunt in from time-to-time.

When fully compressed for storage or shipping the wires are exposed - when you extend them to wear them they are not - have been in thick woods with them and have not had an issue

Just dropped my Vancemuffs on the ground from about 2 feet up... The clip broke off. Hope these Chinese phones sound good. The built in clip sold me.

Call me I'll get them fixed for you buddy, 502-262-0356
