First silver for 2010

Well I decided to go out again and see if the area I have been hunting had frozen enough to shut me down for the rest of the winter. The thaw and re-freeze made most of the area tough digging for the first 2 inches. Even managed to bend my shovel up pretty good. Got that back to normal just a few minutes ago but it will never be the same.
Was walking through the area slowly listening to all the signals and watching where they ended up on the screen. Had my sensitivity on manual and was running at 22 when I got a nice deep signal that stayed up in the upper right corner. It was deep enough that when I tried to pinpoint I couldn't hear anything. Now maybe that was because it was faint and I had my headphones over my hoody with a pull over hat under that, I'm not sure. So I X'ed the signal in iron mask search mode and started digging. Got down a good 10.5 inches and out popped a 1923 merc. Moved a little further and got a shallow 1964 dime. Stayed on that same trail a little further and got a 1919 wheat at about 6 inches. Swung the coil about 2 feet and got the shallow 1939 wheat.
I did dig a lot of deep rifle brass today so maybe I was in the zone. LOL
