I just received the explorer on Thursday. I hunted Thursday and Friday at two local parks to test out the explorer and to get the feel of it (This is the first time having a minelab in my hands) for about two hours each day. I finally had a chance to hit a local construction site where they are knocking down some buildings. So on my lunch hour today i went back for an hour and hit my first silver of the year a 192? merc about 6" down. really worn out but a keeper. alot of other machines probably could have picked it up, but today it was the explorer. even after just 5 hours with the explorer i feeling pretty comfortable with what its telling me. I still have not dug a "deep" one yet so i am sure i'm still missing the sound of the "deep" ones. I am positive now that reading posts here on the forum and watching videos has really helped me shrink down the learning curve. thank you Explorer forum!!

wtg nwtreasure  great find i own a 1999 explorer XS and i will tell you it will find what any of the other top shelf models will :)

Congrats on the Merc!! With all the snow we have here in Mass and with more coming down as I type this, I'm hoping my first silver of 2015 will actually take place in 2015 and not 2016! HH and continued success!
